Department of Insurance Approves Online Self-Study in New York

October 20, 2008

Albany, New York – Effective November 3, 2008, Bryant & Stratton College is one of just a few approved self-study providers of insurance pre-licensing training in New York State. Bryant & Stratton College, a recognized leader in career education and insurance training, has teamed with ABLE Incorporated to provide the most time-efficient and performance-driven self-study program on the market. ABLE Incorporated, a growing media company specializing in cutting-edge e-learning solutions, has experienced vast success with online self-study in other states and is confident that the partnership with Bryant & Stratton College will produce high success rates in New York.

This approval follows a recent Department of Insurance (DOI) decision to allow an online self-study option for Life and Health insurance pre-licensing. The DOI now allows the option of studying online at home as an alternative to classroom education. A dynamic self study process, which includes access to an Instructional mentor ,allows the student to work at their own pace and formally schedule their own monitored exam , offers unprecedented convenience to students, while still providing high-quality education.

“We are excited about New York States approval of the self study program “ states Jack Mitchell , Vice President of Bryant & Stratton College.” The online option provides another dimension to our complete range of solutions for the Insurance and financial services marketplace. Over the years we have had tremendous success in the classroom helping professionals begin their career in the insurance profession. We are confident these outcomes will be transferred to the self study experience”.

According to Pat Wall, National Sales Director at ABLE Incorporated, “This decision will have an immediate impact on the New York insurance industry. It will allow many qualified individuals into the industry that could not have otherwise taken advantage of the opportunity, due to the classroom requirement. New York recruiters will definitely see a rise in numbers of qualified candidates in the coming months,” Wall said.

Bryant & Stratton’s eight (8) campus locations and Professional Skills Centers located across New York, coupled with their team of industry-experienced and student-focused instructors/mentors, enable the College to offer a program that gives students the flexibility of self-study, with the guidance of an industry leader.
